Course synopsis

This one day course is designed for qualified nurses interested in anaesthesia and analgesia who work in referral centres, emergency clinics or busy general practices who are faced with nursing and anaesthetising complex critically ill patients.

 

Specific areas to be covered

  • The importance of pre-anaesthetic assessment & stabilisation of the critical patient
  • Fluid therapy for the critical patient and how to monitor efficacy of fluid therapy
  • Cardiovascular & respiratory monitoring and it's applications for the critical patient
  • Anaesthetic drugs for complex cases
  • The often overlooked recovery from anaesthesia

 

We will finish the day with some case studies, emphasising and demonstrating skills learnt throughout the day.

This course will equip you with the skills and knowledge required to have more confidence when faced with nursing these complex, challenging patients; improving the outcome of these cases.
