Course Synopsis

The aim of this course is to provide nurses with an overview of radiographic techniques.

The course will include information on how your x-ray machine works and the differences between digital and conventional radiography, positioning techniques and using contrast agents. Participants will also learn the basics of MRI, CT and Nuclear Scintigraphy.

This course is suitable for student and qualified Veterinary Nurses interested in improving their knowledge or studying towards their Veterinary Nursing examinations.

Overview of the x-ray machine – how it operates and how to get the perfect exposure
Positioning techniques and collimation
Contrast studies
Recognising film faults and how to resolve them
Practical film reading session
