Course Synopsis
Nursing the dyspnoeic patient can often be very difficult with patients requiring careful nursing to avoid their deterioration. This course looks at dealing with these patients effectively in order to achieve a positive outcome. We will look at preparing for and dealing with the emergency respiratory patient. It will also look at when and how to intervene, and the equipment we are likely to require.
Specific areas to be covered
Methods of administering oxygen
Placement and maintenance of thoracostomy tubes
Nursing care of respiratory disease patients including, treatment and nursing care of surgical and medical cases will be discussed using case studies
