Sam qualified as a veterinary nurse whilst working in a small animal practice, before working in several university and referral hospitals over the last 6 years. She gained the Diploma in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Medical) in 2006 and the Veterinary Technician Specialist in Anaesthesia in 2007. Until recently she worked as an anaesthesia nurse at Davies Veterinary Specialists before transferring to the position of head theatre nurse at The Queen's Veterinary School Hospital, University of Cambridge. Sam's main interests include anaesthesia, surgical nursing, pain assessment and management and critical care of surgical patients.
