Shailen Jasani

MA VetMB DipACVECC MRCVS

Shailen graduated from Cambridge University in 1999. He initially worked in a small animal hospital before undertaking an internship at the Royal Veterinary College, London. Thereafter, Shailen spent three years doing both first opinion and referral Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) practice. In July 2006, Shailen started an ECC residency at the Royal Veterinary College that ended in June 2009, and in Sept 2010 he became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care.

Shailen has a particular interest in helping to progress development of veterinary ECC in the non-referral setting. To that end, he is sole author of "Saunders Solutions in Veterinary Practice: Small Animal Emergency Medicine" (Published Sept 2010 by Elsevier), a practical book written very much for vets and nurses working in non-referral practice. Shailen has also contributed to various publications and delivered extensive CPD to both vets and nurses. For three years he was community manager of an on-line ECC network. Shailen is also the founder of the Ralph Site (www.theralphsite.com), a non-profit website providing information and resources for pet carers facing bereavement.

Shailen currently works on the Faculty of the ECC Service at the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals, Royal Veterinary College

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
