Nick graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1999. After spending four years in practice he then completed a residency in small animal medicine and oncology at the University of Cambridge. He gained both the RCVS and European Diplomas in Small Animal Medicine in 2006 and is a European Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine. He remained at Cambridge as a medicine clinician for a further two years before commencing a Wellcome Trust Fellowship in 2008. His research interests are in canine liver disease and he is currently undertaking a PhD to investigate the aetiology of canine chronic hepatitis.
