Dentist to the Veterinary Profession
John qualified as a dentist in 1984 at Kings College Hospital Dental School, London and worked in general dental (NHS) practice for 6 years. Veterinary dentistry became his full time occupation in 1992. He has extensive experience of treating first opinion small animal dental cases as well as specialist referral cases.
He designed, runs and jointly teaches the BVNA certificate in dentistry – which began in 2003. He is an external lecturer in dentistry to the veterinary students at Cambridge Vet School and University College Dublin. He lectures both in the UK and Europe for various CPD providers and is also course organiser (jointly) for the British Veterinary Dental Association.
Currently, the main focus of his work is advancing the provision of dentistry in general veterinary practice.
